Reporting child abuse and neglect is everyone's business. If you suspect that a child is being abuse, call the Missouri Children's Division hotline at 1-800-392-3738. The hotline is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. With the exception of mandatory reporters, who are not required to identify yourself, however it is helpful for a caseworker to do a more thorough investigation if they have your contact information.
If you are not sure whether or not a child is being a abused or neglected, err on the side of reporting the situation. Even if there is no abuse or neglect in the home, Children's Division can still offer services to a family to help prevent abuse from occurring.
