St. Louis Children's Agenda

The St. Louis Family & Community Partnership is a strategy of the St. Louis Metropolitan Children's Agenda.

Vision

For all children and families to live in a neighborhood where relationships connect and support them; where through relationships, all members of the community share resources; where their well-being is secured; where each community member has other member's best interest at heart.

Mission

The St. Louis Family and Community Partnership is a partnership of parents, families, schools, faith communities, the St. Louis City Family Court, the Children's Division, public and private agencies, neighborhood organizations, businesses and city and state government working together to support families, prevent child abuse and neglect, and help ensure that children have permanent relationships that help them safely thrive with families in their own communities.

Purposes

  1. To promote the existence and the coordination of a continuum of services and supports in the community to strengthen families, prevent child abuse and neglect, and to promote the safety, permanent family connections, and well-being of all children.
  2. To make recommendations and advocate for the most effective child abuse and neglect prevention and intervention strategies.
  3. To provide community accountability and quality assurance that evaluates local data, policy, and practices.
  4. To promote community utilization of effective family support practices and principles, that respect families and build on their strengths.
  5. To increase public awareness of child abuse and neglect, to improve communication between community partners and to increase citizen involvement in family support efforts.
  6. To seek out and coordinate funding and resources to promote collaborative partnerships, integrated services, and grassroots initiatives to ensure safe children, healthy families and strong communities.
